To remember a great guy...

...who died becoming a man.

Gently the rain falls
As I look to Heaven for guidance
The raindrops mix with my tears
No answer comes to my cries for mercy
And I am overcome with grief
My joys cannot overtake the overpowering sorrow
And I fall to my knees, discouraged
My tears flow freely and swiftly
The anger and grief are too much for me

A gentle touch on my shoulder
And I glance up to see my intruder
But it's not the unwelcome visitor I expected
He was there to shelter and hold me
To protect and soothe my heart

There stood Jesus gazing down at me
The tears in His eyes were unmistakable
And my heart was touched
My sorrow is His, and He knows my pain
And so He picks me up from the mud
He carries me into the sunlight

I am overcome with warmth and love
My soul is calmed immediately
He speaks to me words of serenity and hope
As I feel the smile in my heart grow
It begins to show upon my face
My God loves me and has taken my pain away

Robbie wasn't trying to be a hero. He was simply a normal guy doing a job for a cause that he believed in. He never went one day without making someone laugh because he loved to see people smile. He wasn't a sterotypical marine in the way most people imagine marines are... he had a compassionate side. He had dreams and aspirations. He wanted to be an actor and was well on his way to achieving his dreams. He loved his family, and was especially proud of his 2 young nephews. It was for them, to take care of them, that he lived.
